Himalayan essential oils —from the region we live in

High-altitude botanicals collected through our own sourcing relationships in Uttarakhand and the wider Indian Himalaya. Our office is in Dehradun, which is why the origin on the certificate is the origin in the drum.

The region

Altitude changes the chemistry, not just the story

A botanical grown at 2,000 metres under thin air, cold nights and high UV puts its energy into secondary metabolites — the very compounds an essential oil is made of. The same species grown on the plains yields more biomass and a flatter profile. That difference is measurable on a chromatogram, which is why high-altitude material commands a premium and why the origin claim has to be real.

Most Himalayan material reaches international buyers through a chain of four or five hands: a village collector, a district aggregator, a wholesale trader, an export house. Every hand takes a margin, and every hand is a point where the origin quietly stops being verifiable. We buy from collector communities directly and record the collection region and season against every production batch.

  • Collector relationships, not traders — our sourcing team works in the region
  • Collection region and season logged against each batch record
  • Seasonal by nature — we tell you the window rather than promising year-round stock
  • Wild-harvest sustainability — quantities managed with the communities who collect
  • Several species are protected; we supply only against valid documentation and will say no where a material cannot be legally traded

Frequently asked

Questions buyers ask about this range

Ask for the batch record and the collection region. We log region and season against every batch because we buy from collector communities directly rather than through an export house. A supplier who can only name a country rather than a region is telling you they bought it from someone who bought it from someone else.

No, and any supplier who says otherwise is either holding old stock or selling you something else. These are wild-harvested and seasonally cultivated materials with defined windows. We will tell you the current window and, for planning volumes, we contract ahead of harvest.

Only where the material can be legally traded and only against valid documentation. Where a species is restricted or the paperwork is not in order, we say no. That is occasionally an unwelcome answer, and it is a much better one than a consignment seized at your border.

Wild-harvested material comes from naturally occurring stands and typically shows a more complex profile and greater batch variation; cultivated material is more consistent and more reliably available. Both are legitimate — we tell you which you are buying, and the GC-MS shows the difference.

Yes, from 1 kg on most materials. Rare species are quoted by the available lot. We would rather you trialled a kilogram properly than committed to a drum of something that turns out not to fit your formulation.

Ask what is in season

Tell us the botanical and the volume and we will come back with the current window, the price and the analysis. Where a material is out of season or cannot be legally traded, you will hear that first.
